Castrol Magnatec 5W-40 A3/B4 fully synthetic engine oil is suitable for conventional engines, turbocharged engines and passenger car diesel engines with a standard oil change interval where the manufacturer recommends ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4, API SN/ CF or earlier specification SAE 5W-40 oil. Castrol Magnatec 5W-40 A3/B4 engine oil is also approved for use in older VW Group car engines requiring VW 502.00/505.00 specifications (recommended for those engines operating in more severe conditions) and SAE 5W-40 viscosity oil and older Mercedes- For Benz cars that require MB-Approval 229.3 (since 1998 for M100, M200 gasoline engines and OM600 diesels without Euro 4 diesel particulate filter) and SAE 5W-40 viscosity oil. Castrol Magnatec 5W-40 A3/B4 engine oil cannot be used in engines equipped with emission removal devices such as catalytic converters, three-stage catalytic converters (TWCs) or diesel particulate filters (DPFs).
